Description
Colorized photo from 1890
Original Title: Erie ticket office
Location: 190 5th Ave, NY
This location is where the Flatiron will be built. It was created in 1902, 12 years from this date. Because of the time difference, I don't really get why they photographed it, unless maybe they bought the area right now?
I suppose its possible that the Erie station wanted a postcard or maybe that dentist or hotel. Or they shot it because it was colorful, and that's the theory I went with, and made it such.
I mostly liked that soda wagon. Little details to notice, the 5 million signs they seemed to have up on every surface, each one with ornate lines. The ladders on that building on the left, that seems impossible to get down in a corset and long dress. In the past they used spiral staircases, also an impractical way to get down in a fire. But I guess its better than jumping into a firemen's net.
