Description
Colorized photo from 1906
Original title: REO Mountaineer, New York to San Francisco and back
Location: 162nd St and Jerome Ave, Bronx NY (about where the Stadium is)
A story that's long and complex, these two had many hardships, but the one thing that stood out, in every news article, they all said the car was a mess. Covered in mud, dirt and dents. So I made the car covered in mud, dirt and rust.
The bottom of the car has a cloth that protects the chain drive, to keep it from tangling. I don't know why there are 5 stems on the wheels. They look like bolts to me, seems like a lot of stem valves, but they did mention a special sand tire, so maybe its related.
The blue car I think is a representative from the car company. That's why its much cleaner and newer looking than the other one. However being on this road, anything will look filthy.
