Location: Kansas City, Missouri, City market
Original title: City market, Kansas City, Mo.
Kansas Missouri - In this location, there has always been a farmers market. First constructed in 1857, they have always sold fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Well mostly local anyway.
You can tell this is a high class market. They have bananas. Back in those days, it was hard to transport the delicate fruit, and combined with blight problems they had in those days, a single banana could cost as much as 10 cents each. That was a day's pay for some people. It was a delicacy then, only the rich ate it.
