This was one of those projects that I thought was going to be easy, but it really wasn't at all. Despite that the fact that many of these buildings look white, there is a lot of detail trapped in there. Being that this was a postcard, that was made to be in color, there probably was a lot of color in here.
I made the buildings yellows and pastels, being that we are close to the sea. Plus it had the look of salt water taffy which is always fun (there is a guy in here selling that btw). Looking at old postcards, they made the steeplechase ride white in all of them. So I left most of that white as well, but still added a touch of beige.
Wanna play a fast game? Count how many times they used the name Steeplechase in this. They really wanted to make sure you knew that was that building. It's very well marked.
If your looking at detail, you'll notice that LEMOADE stand on the right, he was also selling ROSTED peanuts. Spelling wasn't that important in those days, as long as the sign looked pretty.
