This was a part of some kind of series that outlined the day and life of this particular fire dept. I don't know how many times these guys had to slide down the pole for the pictures, but these guys are both at the top and bottom of different pictures.
Colors: I chose blue for the shirts because I already made something from this station, and the others had to be the same colors. The walls needed to be yellow to add contrast and pop. I did look up the colors of the 1910-20 range, using actual paint chips and sunny yellow was a color they used, and the walls were bright. I couldn't see doing it in another beige color.
The happy guy on the bed, I don't know if that was a missing tooth or a defect in the film or what. But I left it in, because i think he looks better with missing teeth.
They used a very grainy film in this, using natural light from the window and I think a fill flash, it was hard to smooth it all out.
