Original title: Rock Creek Hunt Club's fox hunt
Location: Rock Creek Park, Washington DC
The sound of the horn calls, and everyone mounts their horses. They get the dogs together and the hunt is on. All you hear is the yelp of beagles looking for the fox. Noble gentleman riding their well trained steeds, wearing a traditional outfit, they ride following the pack.
Finally the dogs find the fox catch up it, after wearing it down after it ran for miles and miles. The dogs pounce and tear the fox to pieces.
This is how they used to hunt these critters, it was popular in England, its how they got rid of foxes in farming countries. But it was seen as barbaric, by the time the dogs were done, there was nothing left of the fox.
Today, they still do this, only they tie the dogs up and pull it back when they found it. This only terrorizes the animal which I guess is more humane.
