Original Title: Where the money goes to. Bach Branch Office usually has a candy counter.
Location: 4020 Manchester St. St. Louis, Missouri.
Usually these newsies were photographed to show how kids were more or less slaved out to work the streets to get cash for their parents.
Thousands of images were taken showing kids in many jobs, but some kids, like this one, worked for themselves. Out of the 5000 images on this topic there were about a dozen images showing what they did with money.
That said, however, I really liked the scene. A happy old fashioned type guy gladly handing over that huge thing to the kid. The boy happy to get it, despite not selling any actual papers that day. It gave a good feeling of the time.
Colors I chose, the candy was random, the gum was planned, his hat, Zeno Gum, I chose based off of colors I found online. And those stripes in the glass I think is an awning just behind him. I was able to find that poster in the background online for the colors of that. They did have color post cards back then, if your wondering why its in color.
