Description
Colorized photo from the 1920's
Original Title: Machine Shop in Government Printing Office
Location: Washington DC
I'm not quite sure why the floor is ripped open in the back, seems a bit dangerous and hard to work near.
I think the hardest part about coloring this was separating all the machines. There is a lot of overlapping items. The shop itself has been converted to independent motors, which made it a little more confusing.
The gave a date range of 1909-1932. I don't think this is from 1909, simply based on what the machines look like. Something tells me this isn't from 1930 either, so I put it in the middle.
I'm not sure how much light there was, I do know there is a skylight in the roof, and the tall windows. The little lights didn't look like it had that much going for them.
I removed the guy on the left because he didn't add anything to the scene, he was actually distracting. I removed him at the last moment.
