Description
Colorized photo from around 1885
Original Title: Aqueduct at Queretaro, Mexico
Location: Queretaro, Mexico
For some reason there were at least 3 versions of this image, each a few moments apart. I chose the darkest version because it had a little guy sticking out between cars. However there was a ghost oiling the wheels, and while I cold have left it, it had no head. One of the images was slightly shifted a bit, but had enough alignment to allow me to remove the ghost. This opened the wheels.
I couldn't tell you if it was this colorful or not, there is no record other than a single train I found. There was pinstripe everywhere, so I assume it had color. I was going to make the top of the stack brass, because it looked like it should be, but could only find one train that had it, and it was one from a theme park.
This train is a Taunton locomotive, built on Dec 1881. The range of this image was 1880-97. I was able to find the name of the train, Hildago, on another page. It listed the year, the number 18, and gave me the rest. The train didn't look new, there is some rust, so I placed this at 1885.
Some companies get custom paint jobs, so I chose a Mexican flag theme.
The original intent of this image was to show off the structure in the background (which has a weird illusion property to it). Can you imagine asking them to stop the train to get a picture of it today?
