Original Title: Old store Race St Wharf
Location: 140 North Columbus Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19106
Built in 1705, this building was one of the first built on the Delaware waterfront. Bricks and wood were brought over from England, and despite being around 200 years old it was in pretty good shape.
This building serves as a warehouse for salt and salt fish, but as you can see it holds a great number of other businesses, all related to the sea faring trade.
This building was demolished in 1908, to make room for a fire pump station (a building used to pressurize the hydrants). Today the pump station sits in the spot this building sat in, but is currently used as a fine arts center.
