You know how they say, life was better back then? And wouldn't it be neat to go back during simpler times and just spend your life there? This is one good reason not to go back to this time. The medical procedures we have now compared to then, is usually what scares most time travelers.

X-ray was one of those inventions that helped many and hurt many. Big exposed bulbs were used, often for minutes at a time (the original ones back in the 1890s, took 30min to make one). I don't know how long this one took, but it exposed the entire room with lethal amounts of radiation. Many doctors died or lost hair or skin from all the exposure.
