Colorization is a process that allows one to enjoy a black and white photo, and see what it might have looked like in color. Its a rigorous process of coloring each element by hand. I personally use a Wacom tablet and pen in each color, its very similar to using paint.
The process starts by restoring the original image. Cropping, straightening, cloning, are always done in every piece. The removal of scratches, noise, dirt and age are removed. I enhance the contrast and exposure to maximize detail. It allows me to put the depth back in an old photo. My goal is to make the finished image look like I just photographed it with my camera. Rather than if it was taken by an old camera with color film.
My process differs from others because I create detail on a level that no one has yet matched. You can look at each image close up, and you'll marvel at the level of detail I was able to achieve. My style is contrasty and colorful. My goal is to add life to an old photo, to tell its story the way it was meant to be told. The final piece will look like a painting, complete with lit lamps, highlights and details, it will be full of life and passion.
