Think back, what are your earliest memories? If your seeing a bright light and feeling a doctor hit you, you went too far back. Think back as a kid, do you remember your first soda? Especially the one where you could get it yourself from a machine. That cool, sweet liquid, all bubbly and full of flavor. That is the drink you associate with warm summer days.
Soda hasn't changed much over the years. In the past they had a number of weird soda's, like lemon soda I've heard of, but not a sour version of that. Or strawberry soda, that sounds interesting.
The other thing that changes over the years is the machine that dispenses the drink. This box isn't plugged in, there is a section in the center filled with ice. If you wanted a soda, you would take a warm soda from that holder, open a door and shove it in. A cold soda pops out of the other side. There was a tube filled with vertical oriented soda's that went under the ice, and it popped up like a certain trademarked candy.
The ad's for the machine promised you would make a lot of money selling soda from it. The soda was always cold. I would advise to not lean against the machine, its sticky. The bottle cap opener would allow a little bit of soda to escape and it would just run down.
