Description
This is a 1958 Philco Predicta television. They had several cabinet models in both a 17" or 21". It was made by an American company Philco from 1958-1960.
The Predicta was marketed as the first swivel screen television. The picture tube was surrounded in a new placed called "tenite" which protected the glass and gave it its greenish tint. The tube was also thinner than many televisions of its time. In its day it was marketed it as a futuristic television set. It was originally going be the TV in a popular hotel chain, but this device was discontinued in the early 1960's.
Later on in 2008, a company that acquired the rights, made brand new sets by hand, but only on a limited basis.
