I'm always amazed of how many random places have a postcard, even scenes like this one. While it wasn't the same exact scene, it had enough content to get me the colors I wanted.
The one thing I hate about the 1940's were flower dresses, they are not fun to work with.
This parade is a traditional 4th of July parade, this town has been doing it since 1901, always long this same street. That Woolworth across the street, is long gone, they went out of business in the mid 1990's countrywide. But the building is still there. I think its neat that if you went to this spot, the wall on the side of the building, that has the patchwork, is still there. They never did anything with it, and now it makes me wonder when they bricked it over.
I was attracted to the Anywhere USA feel this has to it, sort of like something Rockwell would make. I also like that bike. It's very similar to a Schwinn I had when I was a kid, it had that weird tank thing on it too.
