This is Clipper City, a large sailing vessel used for tours around New York City. Fashioned to look old, it's actually quite new, and therefore stronger than the originals that were made from wood. The ship is sort of a local attraction, as it sails in the water around here. Near by is South Street Seaport, which has many vessels similar to this.
