Usually I'm happy to find postcards of a given location, it lets me choose the colors they display and not the ones I choose. And I did find a postcard of this location, but it wasn't of this room, and the walls looked nothing like what was here.
The one I found had a sort of art nouveau look to it, this was clearly art deco. I found another one, and it too was totally different, it had less decorations, and was made after this place was made, but owned by the same person. The only thing that looked the same were the orange chairs and black tables.
So I colored it to match the consistent part, and used period colors from 1930 for the rest.
I couldn't find a lot of info about this place other than it was black owned, located in Bronzeville, and it was a popular location to rub elbows with famous people, or government related. He seems to have changed the decor a number of times. Looking up his address I found a mention from 1976. And looking up his phone number lead me to the Morris Maroon Lounge. Either way, it doesn't exist now.
I think that's Mr. Morris in the background looking like a statue of some kind.
