Description
Colorized photo from 1939
Original title: Coffee shop and general store
Photographer: Russel Lee
Location: Corpus Christi, TX, North Beach section
I tried so hard to find this location. I knew it probably wasn't there, I think its just neat or in this case, kean, to find the original building and match the holes where the signs hung. Or to see what's left of it. But there is no street address, or a place called Rincon Court, there is a Rincon Point. But its not near those big tanks in the back.
There are tanks in spots, but at the angle this is, there are no buildings, but I guess there were once. Though if this building did existed, it probably didn't last long, all those signs would have collapsed the place in short order.
I really thought that the Pepsi sign was going to be blue, I was shocked to see it as red, in fact its red only until recently, I assume it was to compete against Coke. Most soda signs back then were red actually.
