Colorized photo from 1942 Original title: Washington, D.C. Peoples' drugstore on G Street N.W. at noon Photographer: Marjory Collins Location: 1100 G Street NW, Washington DC
This was People's drugstore in Washington DC, they had a cafe inside for a long time, they eventually sold the chain to a current drugstore. In its day it had a full blown restaurant, complete with sandwiches and all sorts of pie. There were a few dozen chairs, it was quite large, but still had a line directly behind them.
As for editing, I removed a light on the left as it was distracting. I removed some of that lean that was created, but it still has some of that perspective distortion I can't do much about. I removed the products at the bottom.
I couldn't quite find the colors for the cans and such. I think I found the brand some place, so I used those colors. I did find the the other gear in the background, even those paper cups. Can't believe people kept paper cups from the 40's. The rest of the colors is a mix of the 1930's and 1920's.
