Original title: Showroom of the Pierson Motor Company
Photographed by: Marjory Collins
Location: 28 West Main Street, Lititz, PA
This is the showroom of Pierson Motor Company, owned by Al Pierson (right), who is showing his one second-hand car to a local farmer. Before the war, the showroom always featured three brand new cars. Now, he primarily repairs cars in his garage. Al earns enough to cover taxes and pay his mechanics, but to make ends meet, he also took a defense job at a cork company and serves as an air raid warden, spending four hours a week as an airplane spotter.
The fate of his company after the war is unknown. Today, this location houses a fire station, and the homes across the street have been replaced by a parking lot.
