Remember when your bubbe made latkes? The proper way of course is to take a bunch of potatoes, skin them and then shred them, along with an onion and a little bit of your hand on a cheese grater. These days everything is done with a food processor, it's not the same, but there is less blood. (for the gentiles, a latke is a potato pancake that's deep fried, Jewish people eat them usually at hanuka).
