I'm not sure what the original color was, for the main building. Postcards show a number of colors, starting with red all over, or striped, pink, tan and white. The building was made in 1900 originally, then the great fire gutted it, and they rebuilt the insides, but I assume the outside also had some damage and there the front most corner there has brick of a different color. I can't tell if that was replacement brick, or if the color burned off, maybe it was painted? Today this building is more of a white color and you can't see the brick at all, so I guess they stuccoed the thing? In any case I gave the corner bricks more of a pink look for that reason.
Originally I thought this image would be a "fast" image, since the primary building takes up so much space. But there is a lot of detail in here. You can actually see into all of the rooms! This angle allows us to see into the office spaces, some have reflections but a lot do not, which makes coloring take longer.
You can see detail going to the very back of this, the power plant has a section missing, that building under construction has people working on it.
What I like about this image the most is the feeling of being a time traveler, because a lot of these buildings still exists, and we are watching then build it and now its done and its an antique.
Many might argue that this has to be before the fire, but I think many pictures were taken in 1906, to show how they rebuilt the city in under 2 years time, all of this was a pile of ash and rubble just 2 years back.
