Description
Colorized Photo from 1904
Location: Boston Massachusetts
Original Title: Quincy Market, Boston, Mass 1904
The building in the far back on the left is called Faneuil Hall it was built in 1792 as a market place and meeting hall. However it became crowded very quickly, so in 1825, they built Quincy Hall, the building that has that cool dome on it.
Two stories, 500 feet long, this became the new market place. It serviced most of of Boston, for a pretty long time, delivering fresh vegetables and fruits. There was evidence of butcher shops as well (they found animal bones in the river).
However it was abandoned for spell, then later revived it as a giant food mall.

This is fantastic! My ancestors lived in Boston at this time and you have given me a wonderful window into what their life must have been like. Thanks!
