Artist's Description
Hand colored photo from 1940, February
Original Title: Corner of Main St, Center of town after blizzard.
Photographer: Marion Post Wolcott
Location: Corner of High St and Main St, Brattleboro, VT
This photograph captures the aftermath of a blizzard, where a scene unfolds with intriguing details. The state of the movie sign is uncertain, as it appears to have been either damaged by the storm or is a result of inadequate maintenance. Several bulbs are missing, although it's worth noting that the movie advertised is current as of last month (I made sure to verify this). Unfortunately, the posters on display remain unreadable.
In my fascination with lighting, I took the liberty to illuminate the scene, considering the possibility that the theater might have been without power. Additionally, although it is unlikely that headlights were used during the depicted time, I decided to add them to inject a touch of ambiance and enhance the overall atmosphere.

About Mike Savad

My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...

That was a blizzard long discussed by my Vermont family. Color changes everything~
