Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

Hand colored photo from 1908
Original title: New York, N.Y., Brooklyn Bridge
Photographer: Detroit Publishing
Location: Somewhere towards the end on the NY side.

We are standing on the Brooklyn Bridge, somewhere on the NY side of it. As you can see it mostly carried people, streetcars and trains, along with carriages. That structure at the end is the "Bridge Railway", which opened on September 24, 1883. The station carried elevated trains and streetcars, there was a station on both sides of the bridge.

The railway had a carrying capacity of over 200,000 passengers a day, the largest recorded amount of people was on October 12, 1892 where they had 223,625.

Since its opening however, they had a hard time with capacity, and while they expanded it over the years, they ended up closing it in 1904, using it only for 20 years. Citing that it had safety concerns, today there is no trace of this building.

As for the city, much of it is totally different,...

About Mike Savad

Mike Savad

My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
