As they say, if you do good work, you should always sign it. And that is what one 23 year old Alphie Michaud did when I assume he tarred the seams of the roof. It way up there, its not like anyone will see it. The 1940 census showed he and his 17 year old brother Freddie were pinsetters at the bowling alley that was just up the street (the yellow building). I guess he had a bit too much free time.
This is known as Main Street, but in reality its name is Sweden Street, a rather old street going back to at least the late 1800's. The street was named after Swedish immigrants who settles and developed the region.
I find this image fascinating, that no matter how many people are there to work, only two are actually doing the job, the other 10 are watching. Just like today.
About Mike Savad

My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
