If you have ever visited Lincoln park, then you would know there is a building on the South pond, by the name of Cafe Brauer. It was built in 1908, but used only till about 1940. Then they stopped using it for 50 years, only to fix it up in 1987 and that's what you see now.
But this is not that building. This is the building before that one, the original, Cafe Brauer. It started off as a large two story house, the cafe was on the top, I believe the bottom was used when they used the lake as an ice skating rink. In the summer they rented out small boats and a small family could row around the water.
It wasn't mentioned why it was removed other than the new one is larger and made of brick, so there won't be any wolf blowing that place down.
My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
