When it's raining outside, this looks like a great place for a bite to eat and maybe a place to listen to some live music.
This is Original Tony's Tavern, smoking was quite allowed inside. They served gumbo, fried shrimp and hot dogs, those were the specialties on his menu anyway. They also had a bar, and of course entertainment.
Tony's was opened in the 1900's, its owner Tony Finkelstein, hosted music legends: Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, and Estelle and Jimmy Yancey. There were lesser known local bands as well.
As you can see it was very crowded, makes you wonder how anyone even stood up.
