This unusual bus was made by Rapid, it was a sightseeing bus powered by gasoline. It was made in Pontiac MI from 1902 to 1909. This particular bus was owned by the American Sightseeing company. They had a contract that in 1905 for buses for 20 cities, the first two were Chicago and Detroit.
Behind them is Bowes-Allegretti Confectionery, a very famous place in its day.
