Artist's Description
Hand colored photo from 1915
Original title: Mount Adams incline
Photographer: Detroit Publishing
Location: 64 Lock street (Replaced by the interstate), Cincinnati, OH
There are a number of views of this particular incline, from all different angles and years. I did a set that were from 1906, and I believe this one is from 1915 plus or minus 5 years. There is a guy working on the tracks in the center, looking down. I do wonder if he survived seems like a bad place to be with a car moving down, maybe it was going up and he was safe?
Because I already made this from other angles, I already had most of the colors chosen, I just had to match them up.
The quick history, the Mount Adams incline was built in 1872, it carried passengers, streetcars, wagons and eventually cars...
About Mike Savad
My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
