Original Title: The Bowery
Location: Coney Island, NY
Today, Coney island is a small park that has rides like any other park has. But in its' day, Coney island was the only place that had them. It was a huge location with theme rides that changed often, it was always a new thing there.
Along with the rides there was the Bowery, here you could get all kinds of beer, food, cakes, and souvenirs. On this part of the boardwalk, on the left, was a Hot crisp waffle stand, but to me they look like cinnamon buns.
On the right was Cheyenne Jones, upon entering, you would see a guy wearing cowboy gear, including 2 six shooters, playing the violin. Others dressed like cowboys waited the tables, tended the bar and so on. In the corner was a small pony, and the floors were covered in sawdust and hay.
Further in was Wacke's Trocadero. They showed free movies, to get people to buy food and drinks. However, he didn't have the license to show these films and ended up getting arrested. He was also fined, $5.00, (about $150 in today's money).
