Every now and then I like doing a city scene with a Where's Waldo amount of stuff in it. And while there is no one there with a red and white striped shirt, there could be. I like those crazy, chaotic scenes with lots of stuff to look at. But its time consuming to color.
Often people will tell me all cars in the 40's were dark, but they weren't. Later on they were, during and after the war, but most of these cars are from the 1920's to late 1930's, as the photo was taken in 1941 (the ID on the image said 1940, but there are license plates that say otherwise). Those cars had color. And that is my defense in advance.
Otherwise I used colors from the building that are there now, with some fudging as some buildings are painted now or painted then. Or in one case the right most building seems to have new brick. Gone are the street side gas stations.
