I remember back in the day, on a hot summer's day, the familiar sound of a bell and a push cart. The man would yell, fresh clams, I have fresh clams ready for you!
We would run down the stairs, run after him, he would stop on the same corner, and we would eat fresh clams, right off a cart, and it was just great, most of the time. There is a good reason why he would stop in front of a pharmacy. He would open the thing right there for you, and you would just slurp it right down.
I can almost still taste the things. A bit fishy, slimy with just a touch of grit. Good times.
