We are a few blocks from Times Square, but this area is considered a part of that. Just down the block is Duffy Square.
The restaurant across the street called Tofferetti, was "The place to be seen at", it held a 1000 people, and was open 24 hours a day. It originally opened in 1914 as Triangle Restaurants. But was then re-imagined in 1939 during the World's Fair, where they catered. They then opened this restaurant shortly after. It closed in 1968. One of the things it was known for was the creative writing style the menu's had. For example, "Rough skinned but Tender-Hearted" baked potato. Or, "From the lava beds of Idaho, product of millions of years of evolution", I think that too is a potato dish.
Just above that is Simon Ackerman clothes. They officially started in 1914, but opened a retail store in 1932. They sold menswear, which is actually still sought after today. It closed in 1964
Today, I think most of the buildings are gone, except maybe the one on the left.
