I simply love this pool, its even cooler now that they filled in the sides with more water, look at the google maps view, its cool. The hotel is still around, it closed at least once due to a hurricane, changed hands a few times over, but the pool remains the same.
I was able to find a number of postcards, each one varied a little bit. It could be because they really did change things, or they got lazy in coloring it. But I found this one card that gave me colors I could agree with, though I did change some of it.
Part of me thought this would be a pretty fast image, but it turned out to have a city amount of detail. All those chairs, there are so many and the tables, all those little lines took a while to make. The postcard had them as different colors. But the shading didn't vary, so I made them all the same. Made the cushions match too, they may have been two shades. This hotel mixed colors up in a weird chaotic way. The umbrella's for the most part looked like this, even the rainbow.
As for the people, I went from pale, to tan, to burnt, especially the bald guys. They did have some kind of lotion back then, but it didn't work that well. The lights I guessed at, but the cards all had them random colors, some showed red, others blue. I made what I thought looked good.
