I'm not a 100% where this is, I think the pier on the left is called Medley pier, but the postcards showed it as a lot longer so it might not be. But there was a building on the end of it. Alligator Joe was on Worth Ave, and that looks like a sign spinner, so it must be near to that street.
The image itself was pretty straight forward. I removed the guy on the left that was cut in half, kept everyone in pastels for the most part. The bathing attire seems, that while blue was the main color they wore, they also wore red and a few other colors. But for the most part a lot of them seem unprepared, and went in as is. There is a kid on the left in the water, he has a tie on.
The sign says something about waiting for the life guard boat to go out before swimming. I assume they dived off the the thing without flipping it. But they would be closer.
There is also something going on at the right, I assume there is a sand sculpture thing going on there. What ever it is, it attracted a crowd.
