He said "Say it with a sign", DC Humprey's, was a man of letters, believed in signs so much he covered buildings with them. He started in 1874, making signs, then tents, then awnings. Today they are still in business 145 years later, they however install awnings.
Next door on the right is William F Potts, he was the senior member of the tin plate firm of Potts, Son & Co.
Not much is known about the world's greatest roast beef sandwich made by Firmin Michel. They had a light lunch cafe, later on they also sold oysters. And who can forget that shirt guy with all those great shirts, and his great big sign.
Today this location is a big office building.
