This is Forbe's Field, started construction in 1903 in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. It officially opened on June 30 1910. The ballpark was named after John Forbe's, a British general during the French and Indian War. Forbes is known for capturing Fort Duquesne which was held by the French, and named the city "Pittsburgh". The stadium survived till about 1970, it was torn down in 1971 so they can expand the University of Pittsburgh.
It may not look it, but coloring just those flags, took almost a day. There were so many lines, so many hidden flags. The banner, I'm not sure what order the color is supposed to be. I've seen it both ways, with blue on the bottom or top. I went with traditional flag colors and used a darker blue for contrast. I made yet another blue for the shields for color texture.
It's either Memorial day or July 4th as many of the cars also has flags.
I was confused with the location at first, as some said it sat on the spot where the current stadium sits now. But it doesn't, its further away. It was confirmed because they kept a part of the center field wall, as a wall for a ball park, you can find it just off Roberto Clemente Dr.
I really wonder what is inside the big case that guy has coming into frame. Seems big for a lunch. The yellow and black flags are Pittsburgh flags.
