This group of men are gathered here for the laying of the cornerstone for the Soldier's National Monument, which is on the anniversary Battle of Gettysburg.
Right now everyone is on break, the guys on the left are preparing food of some kind. Everyone just seems to relaxed.

This isn’t 1865 its 1863 ? I travel the Civil War battlefields for 9 years with my son. Great images in your collection. He is an artillerist, infantry and a Zouaves which i saw a print with them in their red fezzes. Thank you for supporting the Civil War World .
