This was one of the weirdest display's I've ever seen. This is the Centennial Expo from 1876. Considered the first US worlds fair. They had over 14,000 businesses showing. And each one of those people stacked their products in the most eye catching way possible. And this one has a bunch of teeth in it. I kind of wonder which one had the fake eyes, I would love to see that one.
As I was coloring this cabinet, nearly done with it, I came across a site that explained that the cabinet is still in use. Located in the Museum of Dentistry in Maryland. And sure enough there it was, it was one solid color, kind of boring, but it also looked different than this at the same time. I will assume it was painted brown at some point. In any case I like how I colored this.
The HD Justi invented a new method of making teeth by using molds and a special porcelain he invented that were much better than what they had. He made a huge selection of them. This case won a few awards and traveled the world.

These displays are magnificent, the cases are so ornate, all your found photos, they all make me wonder where it all went. Really, are those display cases buried somewhere deep in some old warehouse basement, some old barn it got shipped to. Hard to believe a display case like those just disappeared :)
