Simply by coincidence I may have found this exact diner on some random page taken from 12 years ago. It really didn't help me at all, but I thought it was neat.
I used colors based on how flashy a diner might have been and also used a color swatch. I wanted it to pop yet sort of be subtle. I went with a beige yellow combo, but used that bright weird color as the counter, as that was a counter color in those days. Blinding aqua.
Thank's to another website someone identified the beer, so I was able to find almost all of the ones I could read, one I couldn't figure out. The Uneeda cigarette machine, I was able to find an inside that supported the color choice I wanted.
The main sign looked like it was painted a few times.
This building used to be a trolley, they used them because they were cheap, no longer in use and had nice woodwork. But oddly this one slants down in a weird way. Either that or there is some kind of perspective distortion going on.
