Artist's Description
Colorized photo from 1917
Original title: A doctor's office
Photographer: William Hornaday
Location: Austin, Texas
This charming office belonged to a gentleman by the name of Dr. C. V. Bonar. Records indicate that he was a general doctor but didn't really stand out that much. His office was small, and some what thifty looking. Seems to have done his own lab work.
The safe's in this era were custom painted for the person that owned it, and this one was labeled for him. Oddly enough it has wheels, making it really easy to steal. All you have to do is remove that desk.
On the lab table, you'll see a hand cranked centrifugal spinning device. Along with a nice microscope, but the whole desk was cramped for space. I would wonder if he spent all his money on those books.
About Mike Savad

My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
