Description
Bunker gear is another name for fire jackets and the other equipment they use in their line of work.
Over the years jackets have been evolving, originally starting out as a simple rain jacket, to keep them dry. Firefighters in the past never went inside a burning building. As the years progressed, the jackets advanced, they were made to keep the person warm, dry, and more protected from fires. The current models resist burning and are covered in all kinds of safety gear.
Everything worn today is to make a firefighter safer, to protect them from stepping on sharp items or getting hit in the head, or of course from burns.
