While it's a fireman's job to put out fires, and to tell someone not to start fires, you would think it would be counterproductive to their job. But that's why they are considered heroes in the first place. Giving people advice to not make a fire, even at the risk of losing your job because of that warning does show class. However I suppose one can look at the more likelihood that fires will happen anyway, and it's better not to have to work for too long or harder than needed.
