When you think of magnolia's you usually thing of a large bloom, that is often pink, with heavy petals that fall off readily.

This flower is called an Elizabeth Magnolia, it has soft yellow petals with long tapered buds. In the summer it offers a lot of shade. In the spring, it stands out against all the pink blossoms that are usually associated with spring. This magnolia is a part of the primrose family and has a fragrant bouquet.
