Colorized photo from 1908
Original Title: Game of Craps
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
If you ever wondered what it was like to be a kid back in the 1900's, look no further. While some think its an idyllic life style, filled with fun times, bikes and toys, you would be quite wrong.
In those days you worked for a living. 6 years old and up is a fine working age. Whether its working in the mines, fixing sewing machines or delivering things, that's what you would do. If you get hurt too bad for you.
Having off time was a luxury, some kids would work 15 hours a day. So seeing kids actually having fun was a rare thing. When you grow up on the streets, especially when you don't even own shoes, you grow up fast, and tend to play more adult like games.
About Mike Savad
My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
