This workman standing on this giant machine is working in the Watertown Arsenal boring and threading holes in the trunnions of a 14-inch railway-mounted gun cradle. The machine is precisely drilling into the metal trunnions, which are critical components for mounting and rotating the gun barrel on its railway carriage. Its important to securely attached so it doesn't move.
