Machinist - Lathes metal print by Mike Savad. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Artist's Description
Despite these tools being well over a hundred years old, they are totally functional. Keeping them well oiled, preventing the belts from drying out, these lathes still work and are still used even today. They may not be as efficient as newer tools, but don't tell them that. The lathe on the right is a treadle lathe, an apprentice would use that, usually a teenager, would have to pump that foot pedal all day long to make it work. As the boys experience grew, he would be allowed to use the larger lathe.
