This is Carter Harrison Technical High School, it opened in 1912 after the former Mayor of Chicago, Carter Harrison. They were a 4-year high school, located in South Lawndale neighborhood. It was owned and operated by the Chicago Public Schools district. For around 50 years it served as a vocational school. They taught loom weaving, trained to be machinists, there was a foundry class, woodworking and a great number of others. By the 1960's it became a high school for 9th graders, and eventually by 1983, the school closed. Its still a school though.
