Location: Barrow-in-Furness, England
This is the Vickers, Sons and maxim co, located in England. They were a ordnance and ammunition factory. Founded in 1871, they built weaponry, ships, and other ordinances, they were a complete shop, building everything needed for a war vessel.
This is the shell department, if you make the cannon, you might as well make the shell. They used an assembly like style to produce a variety of cannon shells.
You'll note that everyone has rolled up their sleeves and taken off their jackets. They know that if its long, there is a good chance of getting caught up in the machinery.
